I know what you're thinking.  There isn't much cash going around right now to just splurge on mom for Mother's Day this year.  But, I want to propose an idea.  Just hear me out.

Resist buying the $20 box of See's Candy.  Forgo the all purpose (you already got her one for Christmas and her birthday!) spa pedicure.  Snub the brunch and mimosas at her favorite eatery.  Instead, let your creativity and innovation shine through and team up with someone else in the family.

For instance, recruit your sister and score $40 handmade something from a local designer.  Or, grab dad too and invest in a luxurious $60 piece of custom jewelry that she'll know was created just for her.

Now that you've got your accomplice and a generous budget, go to Etsy.com and make that mom of yours proud!
